something I've been thinking about lately

Every now and then I get a bit overwhelmed with the things I have to do, and with the things I could be doing...and then I am always reminded that it really has nothing to do with me!

I praised God for these words the other day, and I had to post them where I would see them often. By the way, this shot was taken with my beautiful, buttery new 50mm 1.8. I have a serious love affair with this lens.

ARLT @ Ignite

ARLT played at the Ignite Student Conference here in Lubbock last weekend and it was a blast! We had so much fun and I think the students did as well. They've been asked to come back as a headliner next year and I can't wait to see what God has in store. Here are some images I shot (with my new camera + wide angle lens) during the concert.

Gotta love a grainy b+w:

huey pro

I just got in my new huey pro. What is it? A color calibration tool for my computer screen. The huey measures the ambient light in the room and adjusts to the reflected light on my screen. In other words, it allows me to see the purest and most accurate colors possible- which is so important, considering that I am constantly dealing with different skin tones and lighting environments in my photography.

I took a screenshot of my screen before calibration:

and here it is after:
It is a warmer cast now and I will be able to see a difference in the quality of my prints. Now the huey will measure the light every hour or so and adjust the screen to the changing light environment- pretty cool!

Time for my first post here on the new blog!

I'll start with some of my favorites from a recent senior session. Reagan is from Seminole and I had a great time shooting with her. She was up for anything and made my job a breeze.

Thanks Reagan! Congrats on your graduation!

Gotta love the shoes!
